Workers Day: The Plight of the Nigerian Worker

Hello,

Happy Workers Day!

Every year, the first of May is set aside as a day to remember workers worldwide; Nigeria not being an exception.

However; this year, workers in 15 Nigerian states will have little to smile about due to delays in salaries over a period ranging between 1 to 5 months. (See map, data source: BudgIT Nigeria)

Dwindling revenues in addition to other factors are said to be responsible for this sad incident. the need to cater and encourage our workers cannot be overemphasized.

It  is hoped that this time next year, there will be more “green” and less “red” on this map; if you know what I mean.

Cheers
